Duties

Help

As an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/ENTARCH) SECURITY OPERATIONS ENGINEER, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with integrated, cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive strategies for a secure infrastructure.
  • Apply expertise and knowledge to enable future operation's security state capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Information Security Division on security breaches to investigate the root cause.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with Senior Executives, Program Leadership, and Key Stakeholders within the Agency and the Federal Government.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze computer systems to identify and eliminate performance and hardware issues.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

To be qualified for this position at the GS-14 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is defined as work that involves:

Demonstrated use of Project Management Institute (PMI) methods, tools, and techniques to plan, coordinate and manage infrastructure projects within defined scoped, schedule and budget; AND
Design and implementation of procedures and controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of mission-critical business systems; AND
Management of data centers using relational database management systems, LAN/WAN routing and switching, Active Directory, cloud computing and virtualization software and assessment of performance through IT metrics and Service Level Agreement (SLA) indicators; AND
Administration of enterprise-wide network security components, including firewalls, internet security protocols, virus controls, encryption, and email security; AND Identifying and controlling STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) hardening of hardware and software to guard against security threats.


In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED):
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Background Investigation will be required.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
