Duties

Help

As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Be responsible for managing ongoing construction, maintenance, repair, and renovation projects, from inception through to completion.
  • Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or site manager on construction and service (i.e. janitorial, landscaping, pest control, analytical services, systems maintenance, etc.) contracts.
  • Monitor the contractor's performance, performing frequent site visits; ascertain unplanned disruptions, issues, and problems.
  • Manage and revise project plans as needed and with customer approval; monitor the project's time, cost, and performance activities; and ensure all problems are promptly identified, reported, and solved.
  • Take a lead role in special situations such as major equipment breakdowns, operating emergencies, or during installation of new equipment and facility systems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Experience with planning, estimating, scheduling and evaluating various maintenance repair and renovation projects; AND
- Experience resolving problems that affect construction, renovation and repair of facilities systems; AND
- Experience developing ways to resolve problems or issues that directly affect the accomplishment of goals and objectives.


In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
