Duties

Help
  • Supervise periodic and special manpower utilization and management reviews for the district's diversified and complex missions.
  • Accountable for the oversight of the Revolving Fund budget formulation process.
  • Responsible for the actual budget formulation, rate setting, day-to-day financial management of both departmental overhead and facility accounts.
  • Review performance of Command mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Ensure the preparation, compilation, publication, validity, and accuracy of data developed and uniformity of analyses, reports, and studies.
  • Make formal and informal presentations pertaining to management analysis, manpower, budget, and funds programs to higher headquarters, heads of district activities, the Commander, or visiting officials.
  • Conduct educational sessions for personnel on topics within the management, budgeting, funding, and manpower areas to assure full understanding and uniform implementation and efficiency.
  • Serve as Acting Chief, Resource Management Office, in the absence of the chief.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing professional financial services in budget formulation, budget justification, budget execution, funds controls, and the coordination of projects schedules and budget; Independently applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to interpret accounting data, financial reports, processes and financial systems; Supporting the military and civil work missions. Supervise a diverse staff of employees with a wide range of responsibilities including Operating Budgets- and other administrative support.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
