Summary

This position is assigned to the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Lodging operation; Fleet Readiness (N92); Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); China Lake- Housing Department. The purpose of this position is to provide quality and efficient housekeeping services to guests or guest areas while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Duties

Help

Performs various cleaning duties including but not limited to:

  • Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy powered scrubbers and buffer.
  • Vacuum clean-rugs, using heavy vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans, and oils these machines and changes brushes and rollers.
  • Washes and replaces blinds, changes light bulbs and ceiling fans.
  • Moves heavy furniture. supplies and equipment. Keeps rest rooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.
  • Cleans mirrors, sinks and water fountains. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap.
  • Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more is needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects.
  • Ability to use powered equipment and perform minor maintenance on this equipment.
  • Ability to learn safety data sheets.
