Summary

Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data.
Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
Conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviewing.
Developing and implementing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures.
Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT services.

This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.

Basic Requirements: Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:as Experience in defining, developing, and implementing systems security solutions that meet the goals established by the DISA and Defense Information Assurance (IA)Programs; Performance most if not all of the following: cyber risk and strategic analysis; incident handling and malware/vulnerability analysis; program management; distributed control systems security; cyber incident response; cyber exercise facilitation and management.

This is an Information Security (INFOSEC) position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.
Program Management Advanced: Selectee must have their Program Management Advanced Certification (or be eligible for certification within 48 months of appointment) in the DAWIA Program Management Functional Area. Acquisition workforce employees must achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66. Obtaining certification within the allotted grace period and maintaining CLPs before and after achieving certification are conditions of employment. If certification is not received within 48 months of appointment as defined by DAWIA, and training not completed within the established guidelines, the incumbent might be removed from this position.
