Internal employees of Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration who are Status Eligibles or currently serving on a Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA), OR CTAP eligibles.
As a Supervisory Auditor (Performance), you will work under the general supervision of the Director. You will have the responsibility for planning, designing, and carrying out activities that assure the accomplishment of the staffs assigned audits and for coordinating and evaluating the work of the employees assigned. You will resolve the majority of operating and administrative problems and refers only major concerns to the Director. Your performance will be evaluated in terms of accomplishment of Audit goals and effectiveness in planning and directing the work of others.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in auditing or a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
OR
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
