Specialized Experience (for positions at GS-4 or equivalent and above):Examples of qualifying specialized experience include technical work in: drafting, surveying construction estimating, physical science, mathematics, aerospace, architecture, chemicals, electrical or mechanical systems, mining, petroleum, or nuclear systems. Experience in a trade or craft may be credited as specialized experience when the work provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and precedents. Examples are trade positions with substantial developmental, test, or design responsibilities such as:
Planner and estimator who analyzed designs for production purposes.
Instrument maker or model maker who performed design or development work on devices fabricated.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
For GS-11: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service which includes performing work within the CADD/BIM/ProjectWise/Computer Aided Engineering environments and configuring these systems. Provided technical support to engineers on work associated with CADD/BIM/PW/CAE in the production of reports, plans and specifications, and drawings. Configured and oversaw databases for electronic storage of engineering products and established procedures for storing and maintaining project files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This is a Career Program (CP) 18 - Engineering Technician position.
Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
