The Acting Executive Director for Telehealth Services is a fulltime position in Connected Care within the Office of Health Informatics (OHI). OHI's operational focus is to serve the health information needs of our stakeholders, which include Veterans and their families, clinicians, and health system leaders at the local and national levels. Considering the varying needs of our Veteran stakeholders, OHI partners with clinicians and other field-based users, VHA Program Offices, Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISNs), and subject matter experts, as well as offices within VA, especially the Office of Information and Technology (OI&T). Connected Care supports clinical technologies that further the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA's) mission to deliver high quality and Veteran-centered care, to optimize individual and population health, to advance health care that is personalized and proactive, and to enhance the Veteran's overall health care experience. In collaboration with the Executive Director for Connected Health, the Acting Executive Director for Telehealth Services provides leadership and oversight in the areas of Clinical Integration and Implementation, Product Support and Maintenance, Clinical Quality Management and Training, and any other areas as designated by the Chief Officer for Connected Care.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
Basic Requirements:

English language proficiency
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia. The Physician must maintain a current registration to continue employment with the VA. Provide proof of this license in the application practice.
Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of VA for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Residency Training. Physicians must have completed residency training or it's equivalent, approved by the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must possess extensive leadership experience in the health care arena sufficient to qualify for the equivalent of a senior executive equivalent position within the Federal service. In addition, the incumbent is broadly acquainted with clinical treatment modalities, administrative and clinical support systems and is knowledgeable about multifaceted health care delivery systems.In addition to basic requirements, executive core qualifications are required for this position. Typically, these qualifications would be gained through education, experience and training which reflect progressive development and achievement in responsible management/executive level assignments in health care at a national or Network level, equivalent positions in a hospital/network/regional office or allied medical care facility, or executive positions in an academic institution. An individual's total experience and education must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Preferred Experience: Preferred experience in Management/Executive level assignments at a national or Network level. The individual's total experience and education must demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience in or knowledge of Clinical Informatics or any of the Connected Care products would be of significant benefit. Prior experience with direct patient care delivery, for at least 5 years. Board Certification in a medical specialty and/or subspecialty is also preferred. Ongoing clinical care involvement preferable.

Physical Requirements: Most of the work performed is at a desk, in an office setting. The incumbent often carries books and papers to and from meetings and conferences. It is highly likely that the incumbent may have to travel between office buildings for meetings, which may involve going outside during various elements of inclement weather.
