Duties

Help
  • Provide customer assistance in resolving help desk tickets and customer inquiries into one or more of the following business areas Materials Management, Plant Maintenance, DFPS, Security, Property Book or Warehouse Management modules in an Army ERP.
  • Provide and present technical assistance to internal teams developing new solutions, concepts, and methods to help facilitate the planning and execution of mission
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations that support strategic initiatives to include the development of new and enhancement of existing solutions.
  • Identify issues associated with implementation of solutions/technologies and appropriate courses of action. Working with customers to ensure that recommended solutions meet the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Serve as IT Specialist performing a combination of both functional and or development updates to ERP software (SAP).
  • Work with customers across multiple ERP program areas in developing new or modified technical requirements.
  • Liaison with the customer as well as other technical teams to ensure system requirements align with the current processes and procedures in place and deadlines and priorities are clear, documented, and delivered within ERPs.
  • Perform complex functional and technical trouble shooting to resolve routine and non-routine production support issues
  • Assist customer with their business requirements for a wide range of systems and process improvement projects as well as support complex daily operations within assigned functional team.
  • Coordinate and conduct scrum ceremonies and activities, send calendar invitations to team members, keep track of assignments and deadlines, and record daily scrum meetings, such as, Assist the team in preparation for ART activities.

  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
  • This is Defense Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) position as outlined in DoDD 8140.01 - Cyberspace Workforce Management and is associated with the Securely Provision workforce category.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires Foundational certification in Acquisition Career Field “Engineering and Technical Management” or the incumbent must be able to obtain certification within 36 months of entry on duty.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). To qualify for an IT Specialist position you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below based on the grade level required of the position being filled:

1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to the competencies above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the (NH-02) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Providing technical support in the area of LMP Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army), Army Enterprise System Integration Program (AESIP) and/or General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)/System Analysis Program (SAP) systems; 2) evaluate systems hardware and software for availability and functionality; and 3) Recommend solutions to complex IT system problems or issues.

  • This position is an Army Acquisition. In accordance with DoDI 5000.66, change 2, selectees must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification in Engineer and Technical Management within 36 months for entrance on duty.
  • This is a DoD Acquisition Demonstration Project position. Under the Defense Authorization Act, personnel management demonstration programs are operating in numerous Army activities and various other organizations supported by Army civilian personnel centers. Under the streamlined personnel operations for demonstration projects, the familiar 15 General Schedule grade structure is replaced with broad pay bands that typically encompass a range of grades. Other initiatives under the demonstration projects include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process, and expanded developmental opportunities. This position is subject to the Command's policy regarding control points. The salary for this position ranges from the equivalent of GS12/step 1 to GS13/step 5.
  • CECOM is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project. The NH-03 pay band is equivalent to the GS-12, Step 01 to GS-13, Step 05; this position, is subject to an internal organization control point at the NH-03 Non-Supervisory Journey Professional control point of the CECOM control point policy and therefore pay may be set up to the GS-13, Step 05, Ft Gregg-Adams: $86,300-$116,304.
