This position requires a security clearance at the Secret (Non-Critical Sensitive) or TS/SCI (Special Sensitive) level.
Qualifications
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
or
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must meet the specialized experience described below.
GS-7 Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. Demonstrates skill in utilizing basic knowledge of auditing principles and procedures; working as part of an auditing team; and accomplishing basic auditing data collection.
GS-9 Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent. Demonstrates skill in utilizing basic knowledge of auditing principles and procedures in the planning and execution of audits, working as part of an auditing team; and accomplishing basic auditing data collection.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
GS-07 One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
GS-09 Two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
