Summary

As an FBI Intelligence Analyst (IA), you will lead analysis of criminal and national security threats to the U.S. that helps the FBI, policymakers, and partners identify threats and opportunities and inform decisions. You will apply analytic tradecraft to analyze information derived from the FBI's unique law enforcement and intelligence authorities. You will work with special agents, other FBI and IC colleagues, and partners.
Prepare and disseminate intelligence information while protecting sources and investigations through correct document classification and controls.
Perform all source analysis to include collation of raw, primary, and secondary data derived from various sources.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, executive orders, and directives promulgated by the Congress, Attorney General, the Director of the FBI, and the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to achieve goals and objectives.
Must be a current, permanent Intelligence Community (IC) IA from one of the 18 IC agencies who is NOT a current or former FBI IA
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance from the FBI
Must have a bachelor's degree
Must successfully complete the 12-week intelligence (BFTC). This is a full-time-in-residence program
Must sign a mobility service agreement indicating your willingness to relocate to any office, based on the needs of the FBI
Must adhere to the two-year IA probationary period starting from the effective date of first assignment
Qualifications
Specialized Experience (SE):
GS 11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS11 grade level. SE is as follows:
Conduct analytical reviews of data to identify patterns
Analyze information and make decisions regarding its value and worth to a case
Provide briefings, intelligence reports, and/or recommendations to management or higher level staff
GS 12: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS12 grade level. SE is as follows:
Guide investigative, programmatic, and policy decisions by the intelligence, policy, and law enforcement communities
Manage the collection and dissemination of intelligence information from investigations, sources and contacts to the intelligence, policy, and law enforcement communities
Perform liaison duties with other US and foreign government agencies on a wide variety of topics
GS 13: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS13 grade level. SE is as follows:
Interpretation of investigative information and extrapolating data for the collection, analysis, evaluation, and dissemination to the appropriate officials of the IC, law enforcement agencies, and other government entities
Review information/data, determine the significance, and validate its accuracy and reliability.
Use of various analytical techniques and devises immediate and projected estimations for those characteristics of each situation that may affect capabilities and/or specific events
GS 14: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience at the GS14 grade level. SE is as follows:
Expertly handle complex issues, providing guidance to investigative, programmatic, policy decisions by the intelligence, policy, and law enforcement communities
Expertly able to review information/data, determine the significance, validate its accuracy and reliability
Use of various analytical techniques, devises immediate and projected estimations for those characteristics of each situation that may affect capabilities and/or specific events
Initiate dialogue with counterparts in the analytical and intelligence community to anticipate emerging intelligence issues
Selective Placement Factors:

Selective Placements:
You must meet one or more of the following:
Cyber: computer science, engineering, information assurance/security, information science, data science/analytics, ethical/white hat hacking, telecommunications security, programming/coding or computer forensics.
OR
National Security: International relations/foreign affairs, international migration, world religions, homeland security, international law, or finance. Experience in SIGINT or offensive technological collection operations, subject and source targeting.
OR
Hard Sciences: Engineering, chemical, biological/agriculture, physics, physical science, biometrics, biomedical, or forensic science. Experience and familiarization with artificial intelligence, quantum information sciences, immersive technologies, vehicle telematics, energy infrastructure, microelectronics, and wireless technology.
OR
Other: Accounting/economics, geospatial/mapping, social media exploitation, journalism, electrical or psychology/sociology.
Education
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university.

**NOTE: The salaries listed above are the Base rate of pay for federal employees on the General Schedule (GS) pay scale. Current locality pay tables are available on OPM.gov.
Current 0132 IAs from the United States Community (USIC) elements may be hired directly instead of through IASP and will maintain the GS level held at previous agency.

Candidates selected from this posting will be required to successfully graduate from a 12- week Intelligence Basic Field Training Course (BFTC) at Quantico, and sign a mobility agreement indicating your willingness to relocate to any headquarters or field office division based on the needs of the FBI.
Multiple IA vacancies exist in various headquarters operational divisions in Washington DC but potentially including locations that house FBI personnel such as McLean VA, Chantilly VA, Crystal City VA, Merrifield VA, Linthicum MD, Huntsville AL, Pocatello ID, Quantico and Fredericksburg VA, and Clarksburg, WV.
Failure to complete the Basic Field Training Course (BFTC) will result in removal from the FBI 0132 series as an IA Trainee and possible termination from the FBI. The FBI will determine placement for candidates who fail BFTC. IA candidates who fail to complete BFTC will be ineligible for future consideration for positions in the 0132 series at the FBI.
Due to the extensive training required for the IA position, candidates who are placed into an IA role from this job posting will be required to complete two years in their first division assignment before becoming eligible to apply to other positions within the FBI.
