About the Position:
The mission of Devens Reserve Forces Training Area is to provide training facilities and training support to all military services, reserve and active. It is a small base, and is located approximately 50 miles northwest of Boston, Massachusetts, in a small, rural community. They offer many of the Soldiers' services found at larger bases including: Army Community Services (ACS), Fitness Center, the Federal Credit Union, and much more.

Duties

Help
  • Reviews methodology used in accomplishing inventory to assure proper count.
  • Ensures all property on hand or issued to an organization or individual at an appropriate control level is properly charged through on property records.
  • Promptly acts on losses and gains discovered during inventory.
  • Establishes positive signature control system over expendable, durable, and non-expendable property.
  • Administers, supervises and performs work concerned with property accountability.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting and adjusting priorities and preparing schedules as necessary, assigns work to employees based on priority, critical expertise, capability and requirement of assignments.
  • Advises the Chief, Installation Services Division on matters warranting additional training and command emphasis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) demonstrating knowledge of supply regulations, policies and procedures to manage the property book and maintain accountability (2) utilizing several logistical automated systems in order to process the work, reports and troubleshoot minor system problems and (3) process changes and revisions to equipment section, and coordinate requests for items in excess using a supply system.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6).
