You will assist the registrar in conducting inventories of the artifact collection in storage as well as implementing inventory controls.
You will work with the registrar to process artifact donations and incoming and outgoing loans.
You will respond to general inquiries on historical properties in storage and identify artifacts to be used to support the museum's exhibitions and education/ outreach programs.
You will coordinate and liaison within the Naval History and Heritage Command to implement the position responsibilities with regard to the identification, care, and accountability of artifacts.
You will assist the registrar with establishing and updating the museum's formal policies and procedures documents.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Qualifying experience includes the following:1) Applying museum collection management practices that include inventory, cataloging, preserving, and storage of artifacts;2) Utilizing a collection data management system to retrieve artifact information, create digital images, and maintain archival records; and3) Providing answers to inquiries on items in museum collection and proper care of historical artifacts.
GS-06:

Successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement in a related field of study including art, history, museum studies, scientific subjects, or other courses related to the position to be filled. OR
