Duties

Help

  • Serves as a technical liaison to communicate with program and business offices to ensure data and reporting requirements are clearly defined, mutually understood and feasible for deployment.
  • Leads major technology initiatives, presenting the most complex information to members of various disciplines to coordinate business operations.
  • Designs new or modify system of data storage, ETL (Extract, Transfer and Load) pipeline, and connection to data analytics applications.
  • Facilitates development and implementation of data quality, data protection and retention standard, in compliance with agency's IT security and privacy policy.

Qualifications

Special Placement Factor (Shown within resume):

  1. Experience with at least three current data analytics and visualization tools and languages, to include Python, Spark, SQL, R, SAS, and Tableau;AND/OR
  2. Utilization of at least one AWS web services and cloud computing tools, such as Athena, S3, Glue, and Kendra.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of specialized experience include:

    • Utilizes current data analytics and visualization tools and languages such as Python, Spark, SQL, R, SAS, Tableau.
    • Utilizes AWS Web Services and Cloud Computing, Athena, S3, Glue, Kendra.
    • Provides authoritative analysis and guidance in developing solutions for problems associated with agency-wide technology programs.
    • Assists with development and implementation of data quality, data protection and retention standard, in compliance with agency's IT security and privacy policy.
    • Ability to provide project management, implementation, and operations of IT strategic planning.


Technical Qualifications:

Additional information

  • This position has a duty station of Washington, D.C. The selectee will be required to physically report to the OJP office building at least two days per two-week pay period and may incorporate leave and official travel plans into this reporting requirement. The office director or supervisor may request the selectee's presence in the office more frequently, as determined by the needs of the office. The selectee will be responsible for covering all commuting-related travel expenses. OJP employees are eligible for one transportation benefit - parking or the Department of Justice (DOJ) transit subsidy.
