As an International Development Intern in the Department of Policy and Evaluation, you will have an opportunity to build technical and professional skills by assisting with a wide range of duties related to policy research, economic analysis, program development and implementation, and program evaluation. You will also:
provide support across a range of functions, including policy analysis and research, evidence dissemination, inter-agency coordination, and external messaging and events.
contribute to relevant DPE policy research related to the Sustainable Development Goals, country ownership, and agency impact.
contribute to the policy and planning agenda related various MCC work streams and events.
support project management for programs and initiatives with policy or reform components.
support the capture and dissemination of MCC knowledge, data, evidence, and learning.
support DPE organizational health, including with DPE meetings and events as appropriate.
collaborate with other departments, US Government and multilateral agencies to assist with and complete projects.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
Relocation expenses will not be paid

Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship position, the following requirements must be met:

In order to be considered qualified for this position you must also meet one (1) of the following qualification requirements (education, experience, or a combination of education and experience.
(1). EDUCATION: . To qualify based on education applicants must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree.
Or,
(2). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants may also qualify based on having one year of specialized experience performing administrative support work. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to: performing administrative assignments such as: conducting research and preparing summaries; developing presentations, drafting remarks or talking points; creating data visualization tools; developing and managing tracking and reporting tools; drafting documents, such as project summaries, status reports, memos, briefing papers, presentations, and meeting minutes; acting as liaison with individuals and groups both inside and outside an organization to coordinate activities.

(3). COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Applicants may qualify based on having a combination of qualifying specialized experience and education as described above to qualify at the Pay band 5 level.

Additional information
Students may work full- or part-time (not-to-exceed 32 hours per week) while school is in session, and full-time (depending on agency needs) when students are on a vacation period or school is officially closed.
If you are completing your education at the end of the semester AND do not plan to continue your education, you are not eligible for this position.
After successful completion of the program requirements, at the discretion of MCC, the individual may be converted to a term or permanent appointment. An intern converted to a term appointment may be subsequently converted non-competitively into a permanent competitive service position before the term expires.
Selectee must sign a Pathways Agreement defining the requirements of the program.
There is no guarantee of conversion to a term or permanent appointment. Conversion is at the sole discretion of MCC management.

Selectee may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience.
