Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Plan work and set priorities of subordinates; assist in developing performance standards and evaluate work performance; instruct employees on work and administrative matters; interview applicants for position; recommend appointments, promotions, training, and performance awards; and effect minor disciplinary measures as warranted.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Manager of the branch to assist with and resolve issues and problems associated with computer operations, check and ACH payments, letter processing, and equipment, and prepares and justifies budgetary requirements for section.
  • Establish review systems and enforce internal controls for the organization that make certain government needs are met and validated, and that economy and quality of operations are maintained or improved.
  • Establish, revise, or review policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement, and enforce internal controls, safety guidelines and quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance, privacy concerns, and or customer requirements.
  • Ensure all payments and letters printed and enclosed comply with legal, regulatory, and privacy requirements and meet customer needs. Establish metric and analysis systems for all production operations assess efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.

  • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.

Specialized experience: For the GS-06, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following:
- Prioritizing and scheduling assignments on a daily basis; AND
- Reviewing work in progress and upon completion to standards; AND
- Working with customers to respond to inquiries or resolving issues.

Specialized experience: For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes the following:
- Planning, prioritizing, and scheduling assignments on a daily basis; AND
- Reviewing work in progress and upon completion to standards; AND
- Composing and communicating information, both written and verbal, in a clear and well-organized manner in order to communicate assignments and guidance for work and status reports.
