Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services to identify and manage personal, psychological and interactive problems associated with occupation and personal adjustment.
Develop individual treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis, identified problems, and treatment needs for each case.
Collect bio-psycho-social information about patients using interview, case history, and observation techniques and assessment methods.
Analyze information collected to determine diagnosis, treatment plan and/or advisability of counseling or referral to other specialists or institutions.
Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments to patient's treatment plans as appropriate.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Required to possess a current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.
Position requires credentialing. Applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to meet credentialing requirements.
Required to complete a pre-employment physical examination.
Required to lift 30 lbs.
Position may be required to perform approximately 5% TDY/travel.
Position is subject to irregular tours of duty and may require on-call duties and evenings.
Position has been identified as a mission essential/inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.
Required to obtain and maintain BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical):
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations of behavioral health patients, providing individual or group clinical counseling, and developing behavioral health treatment plans or recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
Education
