This vacancy is for a Summer 2024 internship. 

While the duties of the Student Trainee (Management Analysis) may vary depending on office placement, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • In the Office of Administrative Litigation: Assisting the administrative staff with handling a wide range of tasks that fall under various administrative program topics, to include but not limited to, training, travel, budget, logistics, information technology, human resources, and office operations.  Assignments will vary day-to-day based on the general needs of the office.
  • In the Office of Energy Market Regulation: Providing program, administrative, and technical assistance to OEMR Administrative staff.  Researching and preparing reports on administrative topics and processes and  creating and maintaining resource management files and records on a shared drive to include recruitment and job selections; budget tracking; training; and travel. 
  • In the Office of the Executive Director: Carrying out the requests of the senior leadership and the Administrative and Operations Support staff, tracking action items, and assisting with administrative support functions. Providing confidential and personnel staff support to the senior leadership team related to planning, control and coordination of the Office's requirements. 
  • In the Office of External Affairs: Working with the Media team to monitor social media and assist with development of postings; monitoring news coverage; assisting with research to respond to media requests for information; assisting with compiling information for periodic agency publications; assisting with producing outreach materials. 
  • In the Office of Public Participation: Monitoring, advising, and preparing media drafts for posting on social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and making edits and updates to the Office’s web page. Providing content development, formatting, and design support for Office-related outreach materials. 
  • In the Office of Commissioner Clements: Monitoring, advising, and preparing media drafts for posting on social media accounts; participating in topic area research and data management projects; and providing administrative support and completing special assignments for the Confidential Assistant.  Assignments will vary depending on the chosen applicant’s interest and experience

Qualifications

Eligibility: In order to be eligible for our Pathways Internship Program, you must:

  • Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on a half- to full-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND
  • Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of your appointment; AND
  • Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade).

You can qualify based on your education, OR one full year of general experience, OR have a combination education and experience. General experience is defined as: progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
