Duties

Help

As an IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT)-TITLE 32, GS-2210-9, you will serve as a member of a team of database managers receiving guidance from the team leader. Assist in administering multiple DBMS software designs (e.g., Oracle, Informix, SyBase, and MS-Access) in support of required functions. Analyze DBMS operations to identify bottlenecks and takes action to resolve problems and ensure consistency. Provide DBMS support on personnel computers, minicomputers or mainframe. Installs new applications and establishes user access. Recommend updates and changes to new and/or existing DBMS applications. Provide technical assistance to personnel involved in systems design, programming, hardware selection and adaptation of commercially available software. Assist in determining equipment demands, number and kinds of records, tables, communication needs, procedures to obtain and organize information and interfaces with other systems. Assures the quality and efficiency of multiple DBMS systems by enforcing the prescribed DBMS standards. Perform other duties as assigned. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
Wear of the military uniform.
Position may require a pre-employment physical.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must obtain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level 2. All certifications are required within 6 month of employment.
Position is designated as OM-ADM-001 within the Defense CyberSecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.
Must obtain and maintain Security+ Certification within six (6) months of appointment.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 24 months experience in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment. Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification. Each applicant must fully substantiate -in their own words- that they meet 100% of the minimum requirements and specialized experience listed above in detail; otherwise, the applicant will be considered unqualified for this position. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: To qualify for GS-2210 Title 32 Excepted Service positions, on the basis of completed graduate education listed below.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree
-OR-
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

All undergraduate or graduate education must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

To receive credit for education, you must provide OFFICIAL transcripts.
