Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Installation Spectrum Manager for Fort Sill
  • Responsible for performing planning, direction, and administration of Fort Sill frequency management program.
  • Researches technical data and accurately generates frequency proposals using automated computer software.
  • Reviews, analyzes and resolves telecommunication problems through the use of sound evaluation concepts and practices.
  • Develops cost estimates and formulates plans for the implementation of new systems and the change in configuration and modification of existing systems.
  • Develops, formulates and disseminates to all users (units), policies, procedures and responsibilities for management and control of all LMR systems and components.
  • Analyzes and evaluates application of current technological advances to existing processes, system or equipment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • 10% TDY may be required
  • DoD spectrum management course certification from either Keesler AFB or Fort Gordon GA.
  • Certification as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 08/11/15. Must obtain the appropriate certification within six months of being assigned.
  • In performing above duties, overtime, shift and on call may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by enhancing the efficiency of various frequency emitters; installing and repairing various communication equipment; operating various types of frequency communication equipment i.e., generation combat net radios, radar systems, satellites, navigational aids, microwave links, unmanned aerial vehicles etc.
