At the full performance level (GS-6) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Serves as timekeeper for the Regional Director and Divisional staff as assigned.
  2. Makes travel arrangements for the Regional Director and or divisional staff as assigned. Arranging, scheduling, preparing, and maintaining all travel items.
  3. Reviews documents prepared for signature of the Regional Director or requiring coordination by him/her for conformation with regulations, grammar, format and special policies of the region.
  4. Serves as IR 3, 4 & 6 records management clerk, ensuring annual records plans are prepared and submitted, staff is trained and aware of records requirements and filing of official documents.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series to which you are applying.

Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-6, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:

  1. Providing administrative and clerical support to multiple groups and managers.
  2. Operating a variety of software systems and applications to input data, compile/ generate reports, prepare documents, and monitor administrative controls.
  3. Using internal regulations, manuals, and directives pertaining to clerical and administrative policies and practices to perform administrative processing support functions.
  4. Applying grammar, spelling and punctuation to prepare reports and correspondence.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F.

One year at the GS-5 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-6 level.
