In this position, you will participate as a team member with scientists in all phases of the research process and assume full technical and operational responsibility for specific phases of the research.
Performs the full range of techniques and studies using a full range of techniques and studies using a variety of specialized equipment (i.e., Soil Samplers, Soil moisture meters, Leaf area meters, Soil pH meters, Soil grinders, and Plant grinders).
Performs routine care, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory, field and greenhouse instruments (e.g. soil and plant measurement equipment, tractors and trailers, utility task vehicle, drills, planters, and liquid nitrogen applicators).
Constructs, assembles, installs, modifies, repairs, calibrates, and sets up experimental or other equipment used in the conduct of research assignments.
Tabulates and summarizes data using computers and up to date software packages.

Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

OR Education: Successful completion of two full years of graduate level education leading to a Master's degree, if directly related to the position. Physical Demands: The work requires some physical exertion, such as regular and recurring walking or bending.
