Duties

Help
  • Serves as the G6 Directorate deputy, participates without limitation in planning and directing all the functions essential to the accomplishment of OTC's G-6 Directorate mission. Exercises full supervisory responsibility.
  • Develops approaches to attain goals, optimize resources and minimize expenditures across Information Technology (IT) projects/ programs. Establishes technical criteria for telecommunication, network and automation resources and requirements.
  • Provides strategic direction for resolution of mission critical problems, policies, and procedures involving vital programs with long-term impact across organizational components.
  • Identifies highly complex Information Technology (IT) problems that cross organizational boundaries to recommend methods to enhance efficiency of information systems through modifications and applications of evolving technology.
  • Oversees operational testing technical infrastructure, data storage architecture, data protection, capacity/performance management, and network systems integration.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is subject to applicant testing and random drug testing in accordance with DA guidelines.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278e) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Must obtain and maintain information assurance certification and computing environment certifications per Army and DoD Directive 8570.1.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Test and Evaluation Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
  • This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 25% or less of the time.
  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Selectee must execute a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years.
  • A one-year trial/ probationary period may be required.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

3. In addition to meeting the basic requirement listed above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Determining and implementing computer network design, installation, maintenance, or performance improvements; 2) Utilizing Risk Management Framework (RMF) to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity requirements; and 3) Leading a team of Information Technology specialists providing direction and analytic advice.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (NH-03/ GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using specialized experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

  • The NH-04 band is equal to the GS-14 step 01 through GS-15 step 10. This position is subject to the NH-04 Director/ Deputy equivalent control point of the ATEC Control Point Policy at $168,866 per year (Includes locality pay).
