This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Duties

Help

As an IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), GS-2210-11, you may be expected to accomplish the following::

  • Establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of the organization's C4 mission
  • Identify need for changes in priorities and take action to implement such changes
  • Structure assignments to create effective and economical positions
  • Recommend awards when appropriate and approve within grade increases\
  • Represents the organization with a variety of state and functional area organizations
  • Identify, analyze threats, and vulnerabilities to the systems
  • Review, analyze, and validate certification and accreditation packages
  • Ensure computer software designs address information system security requirements
  • Protect and maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of information system
  • Manage the Network Security Program
  • Evaluate unusual circumstances to recognize and define potential vulnerabilities and selects and oversee the installation of physical and technical security barriers

Military Requirements:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.

Military Grades: E-4/ SPC to E-6/SSG

Compatible Military Assignments: 25U

  • Adapting guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment
  • Preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies
  • Summarizing and organizing material and organizing
  • Techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications
  • Planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment
  • Guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment
  • Preparing documentation on cost and benefit studies

Education

For those who are substituting education for experience, college transcripts or other documentation must be included in your application packet to support any Educational claims.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. The degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree and provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
