Summary
This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the PHYSICAL SECURITY SYSTEMS DIVISION. As a Data Scientist, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data modeling and analysis, supporting the Cybersecurity Program initiatives to help drive improved data-driven decision making within BEP). Activities will support Cybersecurity Program initiatives to help drive improved data-driven decision making within the Office of Critical Infrastructure and IT Security (OCIITS)
Study data, build analyses, synthesize insights, create presentations, and deliver practical and timely solutions to the Bureau's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Ensure the timely fusion of external data sources into the data holding and monitor the content for quality and compliance with the data governance framework.
Operate and manage application to collect, link, store, and report on planning data created by OCIITS stakeholders at various levels.
Research technologies and methodologies relating to IT Security and Data Science; research cybersecurity and data science technologies to initiate, apply and plan for deployment within BEP.
Lead data analytics projects that will seek to develop and measure key performance indicators for programs and projects related to protecting BEP's IT systems.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-14 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, in the public sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Creating data visualization based on data models and algorithms; AND
Applying predictive modeling to optimize business outcomes; AND
Using data modeling tools to build and implement models and using or creating algorithms to gather data-based insights.
Education
Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
