This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1351000 and is part of the CO 137th SWS, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for the overall shop operation.
Summary

This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1351000 and is part of the CO 137th SWS, National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for the overall shop operation.
Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded mechanic(s). Performs the full range of shop work. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Membership in the Colorado Air National Guard or eligible to transfer.
Must hold the grade of E-4 thru E-7.
Compatible Military Assignment: 2A6X2 AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire.

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-4 thru E-7
Compatible Military Assignments: 2A6X2AFSC or able to obtain it within one year of hire
1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 18 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories.
2. Experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments.
3. Experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships.
4. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
