Help

The Supervisory Budget Analyst , located in the office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Management and Administration, Budget Division. The incumbent serves as a Deputy Director, Budget Division. The Budget Division is responsible for all budget activities, including formulation, presentation, and execution. The OIG has five elements conducting audits, investigations, and inspections on VA programs; a support element, where this position resides: legal counsel; a specialized contract review function, which operates under a reimbursable agreement; and employs approximately 1,130 full time equivalents with an annual budget of over $239 million.

As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, you will:

  • Independently develop detailed annual budget submissions to the IG, DIG, and senior officials at VA, including supporting narrative, new initiatives, performance measurement data, and out year projections.
  • Prepare the OIG Annual Budget Operating Plan to ensure accurate and realistic financial management plans for OIG Directorates.
  • Develop and implement guidelines for submission of budget requirements and justifications from each Directorate.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for this position includes:

  • Performing, leading, administering or overseeing a budget (formulation and/or execution) or financial management program in support of an organization's strategic goals, mission, plans, and operations.
