Duties

Help

As a/an Deputy Associate Director (Product Design and Development), you will:
- Assist the AD with the responsibility to chair the United States Currency Program (USCP) technical committees that make decisions for investments in new technologies and research and development (R&D) initiatives and new banknote development.
- Assist the AD in setting the vision for BEP's product innovation and leads the execution of that vision.
- Set specific goals for the Offices of Technology Development, Product Development, and Process Management.
- Oversee the Offices of Technology Development's, Process Management's and Product Development's funding and resource prioritization, ensuring they are balanced and aligned with Treasury and BEP's broader metrics, needs, and strategic goals.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience for the GS-15 is one year (52 weeks) of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent, in the public sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes managing, implementing, and collaborating on product design and development projects to achieve key elements of a strategic plan or organizational goals.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.

  • This position may become remote in the future. If there is a change in duty station, salary (locality) will be based upon residency location.
  • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • A one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

  • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
