Duties

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-2005-6, you will function as the assistant Supply NCO for the Bn or Sqdrn.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

  • Responsible for the request, receipt, issue, and accountability of individual, organizational, facility, and expendable supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in monitoring funds availability in accordance with regulations and leader priorities.
  • Manage all hand receipts for the field feeding platoon.
  • Provide technical assistance to headquarters logistics section, or other staff sections concerning field feeding platoon personnel and operations, subordinate units and detachments.
  • Manage all Field Feeding Platoon equipment scheduled services, Non-Combat Operations Maintenance Plan (NCOMP)s, Work Orders, Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), and Qualitative Material Requirements (QMR)s in Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A).
  • Assist in the management of daily input into organizations Army Food Management System (AFMIS) and serves as an assistant in the management and operation of Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) for dispatching, licensing, and equipment usage requirements.
  • Coordinate, receive, and inventory food from vendors.
  • Coordinate for the receipt of, and issue of billeting, equipment, and supplies for both training and mission requirements.
  • Review AT and IDT food service records and issues necessary guidance to logistical and food service personnel.
  • Review weekly GCSS-A Equipment Status Reports (ESRs) to identify delays on equipment repairs due to back orders of parts.
  • Serve as a technical specialist regarding Field Feeding Platoon and Food Service operations.
  • Establish logistical correspondence and filing procedures for the organization.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:

  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.

  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.

  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.

  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.

  • The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.


Military Grades: Enlisted - May not exceed rank of SSG (E-6)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered; experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-06 Level - MUST possess specialized experience, education, which includes at least 9 months, knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment; experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts; experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.

In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
