As a Supervisory IT Specialist (OS), you will be responsible for duties to include, but are not limited to:
(A) Supervision of On-Going Operations
The Manager has day-to-day responsibility for the agency's computing platforms, including protecting the Agency computer systems from harmful viruses and technical attacks on the Agency; ensuring adherence to federal and agency standards and policies, and ensuring that the computer-based institutional "memory" is maintained.
He/she manages and supervises through subordinate staff the full range of activities related to the daily administration, maintenance, modification, and upgrade of the USAGM's existing computer platforms and equipment, including the system's configurations and protocols, as well as the associated operating systems and application software. The manager provides day-to-day supervision of a staff of IT Specialists and technicians, and exercises supervisory management over the IT staff. He/she is responsible for work assignments, schedules, goals and procedures, performance reviews, career guidance, and counseling for these employees. This involves supervising, directing through subordinate staff, or directly performing the tasks necessary to operate, maintain, and administer the agency's computer network system.
(B) Program Management
The Division Technical Lead; assist in the evaluation and implementation of new information modifications and extensions to both the server and workstation infrastructure assuring that the agency is taking advantage of new technologies to simplify agency procedures as well as any applicable economies. This could also include integration of external solutions such as hosted email or collaboration tools seamlessly into the agency's existing infrastructure.
