Duties

This position is located at the G1 in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to develop, implement, coordinate, manage, and direct the Yellow Ribbon Program. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a team member and advisor to the Yellow Ribbon coordinator on the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) issues, and to assist in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, and administration of the program.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 12 months experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Knowledge of the principles, policies, program goals, and methodology of the National Guard DoD Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program, including factors that affect work and leisure environments.

2. Ability to collect, evaluate, disseminate information, and assess strengths, weaknesses, and needs of serviced population in order to establish program goals, objectives, and procedures.

3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy, interacting with individuals, families and other governmental agencies and not for profit organizations.

4. Knowledge of the organizational structure of the National Guard including the assignment of functions to subordinate organizations, nature of their missions, and composition of the work force.

5. Oral communication and writing skills to make presentations, conduct training seminars, communicate with federal, state and local agencies, and medical facilities.
