Help
  • Provide technical guidance to the National Forest in planning, coordinating, management, execution and evaluation of proposed projects and programs.
  • Evaluates impacts to projects and problems studied from policy perspectives, changes, resource availability and allocation and integrated schedules.
  • Determines risk and develops contingency plans, options, and recommendations for management's consideration.
  • Provides expertise in establishing project scope and criteria; Creates schedules and milestones; determines dependencies with other projects and applications;
  • Assigns roles, responsibilities, and work assignments to project team members; develops and analyzes assumptions, risks, and contingencies; and incorporates performance measurement criteria.
  • Determines how best to plan the execution of project scope considering stakeholderrequirements and schedule constraints, chooses the most appropriate methodologies, andestablishes the performance measurement baseline.
  • Develops and implements strategies tocomplete the program of work most efficiently and effectively for assigned projects.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:

Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: providing technical guidance in the development, organization, and/or implementation of projects; and/or adjusting project plans for efficiency and effectiveness to meet schedules and deadlines and changing priorities; and/or analyzing and measuring the efficiency and productivity of programs or projects; and/or briefing project teams to ensure common understanding of project tasks and goals.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
