Duties

Help

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator HQ Operations - Alcohol Labeling and Formulation Division.

As a Deputy Director, you will:

  • Participate as part of Bureau leadership and as a senior Division leader in strategic planning, program performance management, and program evaluation with the Division Director, including developing and executing short- and long-term plans and strategies for ALFD.
  • Exercise full supervisory authority over ALFD subordinate supervisory personnel to manage dynamic shifts in workload and achieve Bureau priorities.
  • Develop and apply statistical models to workload and workforce data in order to optimize the deployment of resources to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
  • Represent the Bureau on intra-agency and inter-agency task forces and special projects relating to Division responsibilities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Interpreting and advising on the laws and regulations administered or enforced by Federal, state, foreign, and local agencies that affect the alcohol industries; AND
- Leveraging the use of data to drive decision making, understand patterns, and develop workforce planning strategies; AND
- Developing and implementing strategic planning and performance measurement; AND
- Implementing policies, determining goals and objectives, and determining the best approach or solution for long-range needs in a program or program segments; AND
- Exhibiting external awareness of developments affecting multiple stakeholders; AND
- Exhibiting extensive and significant coordination and communication among stakeholders; AND
- Tailoring communications as appropriate for the audience.
