Duties

Help
  • Plans and administers an assigned segment of a sports program. Selects and emphasizes competitive sports activities to be offered.
  • Assists in conducting clinics and seminars to train coaches, officials and/or participants.
  • Schedules and publicizes tournaments, and other sports events. Solicits volunteer and paid services for activities.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of sports activities program objectives. Develops program plans and requirements.
  • Arranges for necessary supplies, transportation, space, and services to accomplish scheduled sports activities.

  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be willing to accept varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games. This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.The education must be reflected on your resume and your degree must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position based on education.

This position is a Flexible (Flex) position and there are 0 guaranteed hours per week. Flex employees are not entitled to leave or benefits. There is no upper limit to the number of hours a flexible employee may work (subject to overtime obligations and work scheduling requirements).
