Help

Duties include but not limited too:

  • Collecting a variety of data regarding educational activities, medical record documentation, encounter completion, quality performance, and outcomes from multiple sources and trainings to include a variety of computerized data.
  • Setting up and completing program, attendance, documentation, and supervision audits.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data, and prepares summary reports to facilitate Program evaluation.
  • Responsible for ensuring educational programs are organized and implemented effectively. This includes acquisition and/or development of program information, resource materials and faculty/instructors to support the delivery of educational programs.-Employee analyzes course evaluations, course recommendations, training recommendations and related information.
  • Initiates computer and VISTA accounts for residents and students and provides troubleshooting and instruction on using and maintaining computer accounts.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all trainees including medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as WOC and paid VHA SLC Employees, and University of Utah personnel and various others who contact the OAA office.
  • Responsible for purchasing equipment, maintaining services keys, conference room, professional office appearance, as well as ensuring that all documents which must be stored, filed, and suspended are done so in a timely and accurate manner.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday- 08:00-4:30pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. 1 to 2 days per Pay Period.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:

Specialized Experience for GS-06 : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge and technical skills to operate a personal computer including ability to utilize software applications such as SharePoint and Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.,
  • Ability to operate office equipment;
  • Knowledge and ability to administer and utilize VHA and VA electronic training programs and record systems, learning updates, synthesizing into local policies and procedures, developing, implementing, and evaluating training for program administrators and end users;
  • Knowledge and abilities related to the electronic training programs as well as implementing and evaluating training for program administrators.
Specialized Experience for GS-07 : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature;
  • Knowledge of a range of functional areas such as human resources, purchasing, travel, financial and budget management, and related administrative areas to ensure compliance with established policies, practices, procedures, and controls;
  • Knowledge and competent in the use of Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA); CPRS, Concur, the Personal Identification Verification (PIV) database; and the TMS system.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work does not demand any special physical qualifications and is basically sedentary. It does require some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of heavy charts, files, and light equipment at least one half mile per day due to the location of the office.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.
