As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Administrator, you will perform the following duties:
Contribute to the scientific accomplishments of National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) through research formulation and prioritization, advice to management, constituent services, and the effective coordination and integration of Auke Bay Laboratories Division (ABL) activities within AFSC, NMFS HQ, and external partners.
Supervise administrative and facilities staff to ensure that science and research priorities are executed efficiently and appropriately.
Support the Division Director with budget execution and reporting throughout the fiscal year.
This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
The salary for selectee's pay may be set at any point within the pay band except for intervals 4 and 5 ($170,557 - $180,943) which is reserved for supervisory performance or for current supervisors within CAPS who already have a salary within intervals 4 and 5.
The ZP-04 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.
A one year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience in order to be found minimally qualified. Transcripts must be submitted with your application package. You MUST meet the following requirements:
To qualify for the 0480 series: A. Degree: Applicants must show that they have a degree with major study in Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4- year course of study as described in A above.
AND
To qualify at the ZP-4 or GS-13 Level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-3 or GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Implementing a research program or project focused on marine ecosystems;
Leading a team that includes project oversight or oversight of employees; and
Assisting with the preparation of natural resource budget reports.
