Summary

This job opportunity is for a Supervisory Joint Operations Center Technician, position description D1244000, within the JFHQ of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position.

The primary purpose is to effectively manage, direct and oversee the Military Funeral Honors program operation for the State. Coordinate as necessary with all applicable base agencies, higher headquarters major commands, Federal, state, and local agencies.

This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.

Duties

Help

As an Supervisory Joint Operations Center Technician, GS-0301-10-01, you may be expected to accomplish the following:

  • Serve as the joint operations center subject matter expert for all joint operations planning activities.
  • Recommend solutions to ensure mission accomplishment and that Federal, state and local agency objectives are achieved.
  • Responsible for personnel as it pertains to employee safety, joint operation center procedures, and work practices within the JOC.
  • Provide administrative support to track and log CAT events.
  • Manage and supervise the daily activities of the joint operations center, console operations, administration, and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Areas of Consideration:

  • CAT 3 - All New Jersey Army National Guard members of a specific agency (Joint Staff)
Military Grades: Min: SSG (E-6) - Max: CPT (O3)

Additional Employment Requirements:
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Security Clearance:

This position requires the Selectee to possess an Active Secret Security Clearance.
Selectee will have one (1) year of the Appointment to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Qualifications

General Experience:

Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience:

Must have at least 30 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

Extra Experience:

Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
