As a Utility Systems Repairer Operator Supervisor WS-4742-10, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serves on a continuing basis as a supervisor for personnel engaged in utility system repair services, plumbing services, electrical, locksmith, painting and general maintenance to the offices, academic and shop buildings, classrooms, student union, gymnasiums and the auditorium.
  • Performs trouble shooting with various types of meters of instruments on electrical equipment, boilers, furnace, kitchen equipment, well controls, pumps/motors, electrical controls, lighting and electrical systems.
  • Performs a wide variety of journeyman level painting and coating materials application.
  • Performs a wide variety of journeyman level carpentry work constructing, altering, maintaining and repairing buildings and structures.
  • Performs locksmith duties at the journeyman level to overhaul and repair of all types of padlocks, rim locks, door closers and panic hardware in or on buildings or structures.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on the plumbing system, such as repair of replacement of defective pipes of the water supply and sewer systems; pumps and pipe of the hot water boiler system, etc.
  • Provides a variety of services of a general nature in preventative maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, emergencies, general repairs and service calls.

Qualifications

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications and will be evaluated on their ability to perform duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope and quality of all experience and training.

Position may be required to perform duties on weekends or nights due to weather conditions, etc.

The position is designated as an OCCASIONAL Driver IAW Motor Vehicle Operator - Indian Affairs Policy to drive a motor vehicle to conduct business at field locations.

A valid State driver's license is required when operating a motor vehicle on the job.
