Duties

Help

As an Information Technology Specialist (DATAMGT), you will:

  • Interpret policies, procedures, and guidelines governing the provision of database management and data analysis support throughout the OIG.
  • Collaborate with OIG Directorates in response to requests for analytic reporting support; plan and coordinate project design, development, and implementation including new data management schema, data structures, and report access strategies in alignment with specific requests and overall OIG mission requirements.
  • Produce analytical reports and studies that are made available to a wide variety of constituents to better understand VA activities.
  • Coordinate implementation of database designs and modifications of design characteristics in response to complex performance problems, changing customer requirements, or rapidly evolving or constantly changing database systems.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12grade level in the Federal service .Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:

-Working experience with relational database engine and data warehouse in cooperation with data engineers and analysts; AND

-Authoring complex Extract/Transfer/Load (ETL) packages and other custom queries; AND

-Developing custom reports and web applications using a variety of development tools including Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft .NET Framework, and other web technologies such as JavaScript.


In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
