Duties

Help
  • Serves as the Lead Informatics Officer for the Business Process Management (BPM) Section, who delegates responsibility for managing the operation of the department.
  • Handles both administrative and clinical systems integration and informatics related problems, referring to the User Integration Branch (UIB).
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of staff personnel in BPM and ensures task management is carried out.
  • Ensures implementation and integration of systems across all domains of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) and ensures training and support is well coordinated and executed.
  • Provides clinical Informatics resources to ensure systems are integrated into clinical workflow during implementation and sustainment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Basic Requirements for Informatics Officer GS-0301-14:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting in implementing clinical information systems supporting patient care; coordinating matters pertaining to informatics policy initiatives; and analyzing clinical workflow methods and makes changes based on findings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
