Duties

Help

Functions as financial management analyst in receiving and interpreting reports of Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) financial activity, program and project requirements in support of 91 Lodging NAFI's for Lodging Central Accounting Branch in the Financial Services Branch, Directorate of Financial Management Comptroller, Services' Activity. Analyzes the operational performance of Lodging Funds and their activities. Assists in analysis on cash flow and operational expenditures for the Air Force Lodging Central Accounting Branch. Balances subsidiary accounts of all recapitalization projects to ensure proper reconciliation with general ledger accounts. Provides professional and authoritative advice to installation Resource Managers, Lodging Managers and Non-Appropriated Funds Financial Analyst (NAFF A) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and NAF Regulations. Directs improvements and changes to installation level methods and procedures as necessary to assure adequate internal management to include procedural, financial, and sound internal controls. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Participates in meetings and conferences to gather facts, define and explore problems and possible solutions, and to furnish advice to management on NAF Lodging accounting issues. Prepares analysis of installation operational performance on monthly financial reviews sent to FSS and RM. Incumbent must be thoroughly versed in Lodging accounting procedures, skilled in database and spreadsheet applications and is responsible for preparing financial correspondences, visual aids, handouts and other financially oriented materials for action officers, division chiefs, senior management officials and installation level leadership. Performs other related duties.

Qualifying Experience:
Must be thoroughly versed in accounting procedures and possess accounting and financial analysis experience. Experience with the work processes, procedures, associated databases, spreadsheet applications and their use by Lodging and other managers. Must have experience with lodging accounting structure to include document flow and the internal control and review processes. A working experience of business computer systems and current personal computers and peripheral devices. Working experience with standard business software systems such Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Must have experience to analyze system problems and apply sound judgment in assessing the practical implications of alternative solutions, to develop financial, cash management, and internal control policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Experience to organize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate financial data in the solution of management and accounting problems. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with personnel at all levels with varying degrees of technical experience. Experience with computers and standard software applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of AF NAF Lodging accounting structure.
  2. Skills to create Pivot Tables from current resources and historical data.
  3. Broad understanding of financial analysis and NAF accounting process.
  4. Ability to prepare and presents findings and recommendations to AF Services leadership.
  5. Ability to develop new or modified methods of calculations, structures procedures from interrelated systems.
