Duties

Help

As Executive Director for Workforce Diversity and Inclusion, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor progress toward several standards and procedures related to workforce diversity and the inclusion and utilization of minority- and women-owned businesses in OCC programs and contracts as well as the standards for assessing the diversity policies and practices of entities regulated by the OCC.
  • Lead and collaborate with OCC management in establishing comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion and assessibility (DEIA) strategies and objectives; advise in developing and executing action plans related to workforce diversity in recruitment, development, and career advancement
  • Develop metrics to inform strategic planning /decision- making and diversity analytics to ensure accountability in tracking and monitoring DEIA initiatives.
  • Develop annual reports to Congress under section 342 of the Dodd-Frank Act, EEOC and other government compliance reports.
  • Represent the OCC to congressional committees on diversity and inclusion, on senior level interagency committees, meetings, and projects.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in assessing the effectiveness of OCC's equal employment opportunity program.
  • Serve as key advisor to OCC personnel on a broad range of EEO matters; recommend changes in management policies/practices to eliminate barriers to EEO; and develop strategies/support to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a staff of employees and evaluate performance in accordance with OCC guidelines; make personnel decisions regarding hiring, promotions, adverse actions, etc.; and provide training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VII band level or GS-15 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:

  • Leading Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) efforts for an organization or agency and providing strategic direction, guidance, and enterprise-wide coordination to the DEIA program. AND
  • Providing direction on the development, monitoring, and implementation of metrics to promote DEIA within an organization or agency. AND
  • Providing oversight and leadership to the day-to-day operations, including quality and timeliness of activities, and ensuring compliance with mandates and policies.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

Additional information

  • This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.
  • Salary range includes 24.27% geographical pay.
  • Total pay cannot exceed applicable pay cap, which is $303,400 for 2023.
  • If you are a current OCC employee who previously received a waiver determination permitting you to retain bank securities due to extenuating circumstances, please note that this determination may be rescinded if the nature of your duties changes.
