This is an open continuous announcement. Recruitment will continue through the announcement closing date until the position is filled. **INDEFINITE POSITION - MAY NOT BECOME PERMANENT**
As a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-2001-7/9, you will provide centralized oversight of critical squadron programs.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Evaluate unexpected fluctuations or trends in statistics, resolve discrepancies, and make recommendations for change when problems are identified that adversely affect operations.
Develop and maintain trend analysis for stock fund operations and formulate long and short-range projections.
Analyze and forecast financial data to the Wing Finance function, Financial Management Board, and Maintenance Group regarding impact of Stock Number User Directory (SNUD) price changes that affect obligations.
Monitor inventory losses by analyses of inventory discrepancies, adjustments, and trends to ensure the integrity of the base resources management system.
Serve as the approval level authority for all inventory adjustments affecting the General Support Division stock fund.
Review and certify organization cost center records.
Perform analysis on current or potential problems identified by flight management.
Compare supply performance and maintenance interface data with prescribed standards to identify the effectiveness of supply support.
Perform in-depth research and special analyses and make appropriate recommendations for improvement.
Develop, coordinate, and publish local supplements and make recommendations to assist in the development of major command (MAJCOM) supplements to Air Force (AF) manuals and instructions applying to the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS).
Draft and finalize operating instructions, which include but are not limited to, alert plans, duty hour, and designation of delivery locations.
Provide a detailed written report of inspection to include procedural clarification to eliminate non-compliance.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank of TSgt. Maximum rank of MSgt/1st Sgt.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training involving administration of supply management, storage, cataloging, packaging and distribution or other work which provided a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field; and experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 24 months experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management; experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities. GS-07 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 12 months experience, education, or training in researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance and disposal procedures; and experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.
In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.
