This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Audits (OA) conducting independent, objective audits, reviews, and other examinations of NASA and NASA contractor programs and projects to improve NASA operations. The OA provides a broad range of professional audit and advisory services, performs focused reviews of specific management issues, comments on NASA policies, and is responsible for oversight of NASA audits performed under contract or by other Federal agencies.

As a Management Analyst at the GS-0343-09 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:
Conducts evaluations of ongoing NASA functions to ensure the organization meets its stated goals, and identifies areas where operational efficiency can be enhanced.
Conducts research, planning and assessments of NASA's programs, products and services within specified areas of responsibility.
Prepares written documents (including work papers and detailed audit, policy analysis, and/or performance evaluation reports) that provide findings, guidance, and recommendations to a wide range of audiences.
Informs the work assignment supervisor of the progress of the assignment, identifying potentially controversial matters or far-reaching implications as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience:Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Conducting evaluations of ongoing program functions to identify areas where additional efficiency is needed;
Conducting fact-finding interviews to obtain information about organizational functions and work procedures; AND
Preparing written documents (including work papers, analyses, and audit reports) which provide findings, guidance, and recommendations to a wide range of audiences.
OR
Education:Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Public Policy, Public Administration, Finance, Economics, Political Science, or other directly related field.

Combination:You must have a combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education as described above that totals 100% when combined. You must have a combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education as described above that totals 100% when combined. To calculate your combination, first determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of 1 year (18 semester) hours may be combined with experience at the GS-09 level.
