The position would serve as a Health Scientist Administrator (Program Officer, PO) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director (OD), Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI), Office of Data Science Strategy (ODSS), and will work as the Program Officer (PO) for Artificial Intelligence and Ethics in the Integrated Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies.

This position offers opportunities to support and lead cutting-edge solutions at the intersection of ethics, biomedical and behavioral research, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Office of Data Science Strategy has primary responsibility for implementing the NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science for a FAIR and modernized biomedical data ecosystem that enables researchers to seamlessly access and analyze data from across the many NIH data resources. The Integrated Infrastructure and Emerging Technologies (IIET) team coordinates with NIH Institutes and Centers to identify strategic priorities in emerging technologies such as AI/ML, often leading NIH-wide working groups and programs; and oversees ODSS investments in these areas.

Candidates with the required qualifications for the Health Science Administrator position are invited to apply. Of particular interest are candidates with expertise and understanding of biomedical data science and ethics of technology, as well as superior oral and written communication skills.
