Duties

Help
  • Assist the Advertising and Public Affairs Chief with planning social media strategies and content to communicate U.S. Army Recruiting Command?s communication focus areas, priorities and missions at the battalion level.
  • Engage with audiences on the battalion?s social media platforms.
  • Provide content to support recruiting company and center-level social media pages.
  • Will establish and maintain working relationships with social media counterparts at the recruiting brigade and United States Army Recruiting (USAREC) headquarters.
  • Provides / coordinates social media coverage of major communication events / efforts using battalion?s official social media platforms, including Future Soldier events, educator tours, awards for recruiters, and other key recruiting functions.
  • Research new and innovative tools, programs, systems, software, services and social media industry trends to maintain the battalion?s currency and relevance with social media efforts and strategies.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinates social media coverage of major communication events AND 2) creates multimedia content using graphic design, photo manipulation and/or video editing software and techniques. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Communications or Journalism.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

  • This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 30 SEP 2024 position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
