As the Division Director for the Division of Administrative Services, you will serve as the Administrative Officer and expert advisor executing and managing the Division's cross-cutting administrative programs and activities.

Your major duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Providing program direction and carrying out the Division's objectives and performing strategic planning, leadership, and management as it pertains to a broad range of administrative programs and management initiatives that support the goals of the Agency.
  • Interpreting administrative regulations and directives established at higher levels and developing Agency-Wide policies and processes.
  • Defining administrative requirements, ensuring success, and providing guidance to senior leadership on administrative activities under the incumbent's purview.
  • Managing the Agency's security and suitability program and ensuring compliance with the Dept of Homeland Security's policies and directives.
  • Directing AHRQ's COOP Activities, creating and maintaining a program that allows the Agency to operate seamlessly in the event of a manmade or natural disaster, building closure, or weather-relates issue.
  • Directing other administrative functional areas including space planning, building renovation, internal moves, travel management, timekeeping administration, among other administrative operations.
  • Providing administrative and technical supervision of the DAS staff to engage in a multitude of critical administrative functions and performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of the minimum qualifying experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-14 level in the federal service.

MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.

Examples of the minimum qualifying experience equal to the GS-14 level include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis:

  • Providing direction and oversight over major components of programs that perform administrative work (e.g., travel management, management activities, space management, property management, timekeeping administration, etc.).
AND
  • Providing technical advice on administrative management policies and requirements to ensure program goals, objectives are in compliance with federal regulations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
