Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and managing Point-of-Sale (POS) system implementations globally including the installation of new or updated hardware, operating systems and software applications.
  • Configuring POS system applications to accomplish business functions.
  • Developing POS and business system configuration documentation.
  • Planning and managing POS interfaces with other business systems.
  • Planning and managing timekeeping interfaces with other business systems.
  • Providing POS training to super-users, business process owners, end users, and peers.
  • Managing the performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability of POS systems and timekeeping systems.
  • Defining POS systems scope and objectives.
  • Performing needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions.
  • Consulting with stakeholders to identify program specific requirements.
  • Conducting business process workshops, documenting results and creating gap-fit analyses.
  • Researching best practice POS and business configuration solutions.
  • Translating stakeholder business requirements into configured system prototypes.
  • Analyzing customer/user/process owner change requests and/or makes suitable alternative recommendations to business partners when applicable.
  • Developing functional and systems requirements and specifications.
  • Conducting business process reengineering and documenting results.
  • Developing cost estimates for new or updated systems.
  • Assisting with the integration of all POS system components including databases, software, and hardware.
  • Planning and managing system testing including developing testing plans and testing case scenarios.
  • Performing unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.
  • Planning and managing POS system data conversions.
  • Ensuring integration between POS and other business systems hardware and software while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Providing level 2 or higher helpdesk support for the POS business systems.
  • Cross-training colleagues as required or appropriate
  • Serving as acting Contracting Officer Representative (COR), as required.
  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices to the systems analysis process.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and skill in applying industry-standard and organizationally accepted business and systems analysis principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of POS system life cycle management concepts and skill in their application to the organization's current and future systems.
  • Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis methods sufficient to evaluate the feasibility of proposed new systems development projects.
  • Knowledge of and skill in configuring POS systems to achieve business requirements.
  • Knowledge of and skill in understanding organizational business processes and operations.
  • Ability to make business processes and operations recommendations for improvements.
  • Knowledge of and skill in translating functional requirements into complete design specifications to satisfy changes in organizational requirements.
  • Skill in collaborating with applications developers to isolate and solve design problems encountered during testing and implementation phases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Education

A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Technology Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or Engineering (Degree must be uploaded if using education as a qualifying factor)

OR

A degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks (Transcripts must be uploaded if using semester hours as a qualifying factor)

OR

4 years' experience applying analytical processes to the planning, design, enhancement and implementation of information systems.

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education.

Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
