JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Provost for Academic Programs and Faculty Affairs (APAP) serves as the principal advisor to the NDU Provost on Academic Planning and Outcome-Based Military Education (OBME), curriculum content and implementation, academic governance and faculty affairs, outreach and stakeholder engagement. The APAP is responsible for formulating strategies for curriculum development and implementation as well as faculty recruitment, renewal, retention, and development. Consults with senior officials throughout the Department of Defense (DOD) and other government departments and leaders in the civilian academic community. Acts as liaison to private and public sector organizations and academic institutions both nationally and internationally. Interacts with Commandants, Chancellors, Senior Directors, Deans of Faculty, faculty members, staff, and researchers throughout the University. Develops policy and operational guidance affecting educational philosophy, methodology, faculty qualifications, performance, and development. Performs other duties as assigned by the Provost.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Academic and Educational Leadership
Education Requirement: A Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or, international equivalent.

Initial Probationary Period: You will be required to serve an initial probationary period of 18 months.
Supervisory Probationary Period: You will be required to serve a supervisory probationary period of one year if one has not already been completed.

The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a Special Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
