The incumbent in this position is responsible for the management, operation and technical direction of a comprehensive Athletics & Sports Program for installation commands; tenant commands to include active duty, retired military and their dependents.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the management, operation and technical direction of a comprehensive Athletics & Sports Program for installation commands; tenant commands to include active duty, retired military and their dependents.
Will have supervisory oversight and operational control over the primary functional elements of Sports & Fitness and Aquatics Programs. Incumbent develops, manages, plans and administers a large and diverse Athletics and Sports Program, Aquatics Program and resale activities. Responsible for providing activities and programs for authorized patrons as a means of improving fitness and health enhancement and providing a support system for Navy families through evaluation, education and exercise. Responsible for designing a total Fitness and Wellness Program ensuring that it is safe, effective and medically sound. Develops and establishes budget criteria for the Athletics and Sports Division. Provides for adequate staffing, effective training and supervision of subordinate employees; informs staff of required operational policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

A qualified candidate possess the following:
A degree from an accredited college or university with a course of study in Recreation Management/Administration or closely related field.
OR
Five years of related experience which demonstrates knowledge of recreation policies, principles, concepts and methodology of a variety of conventional and unusually difficult and complex assignments.
